Assistant Accountant

The finance team is looking to hire a motivated Assistant Accountant to support their expanding needs starting immediately.  This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure across various tasks including month-end accounting, which will support more complex accounts payable queries.  You'll develop valuable skills in commercial accounting whilst benefiting from a dynamic work environment, this role will equip you with the experience and knowledge to advance your career!

The Role
Your role will be varied and not limited to the below. 

• Processing of journals
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Tax compliance activities - GST returns
• Maintain daily cash flow requirements including foreign currency.
• Support finance team members to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
• Participate in the 6-monthly audit (Half year audit and End of Year audit)
• Assist with Accounts Payable
• Back up support across management reports
• Any other duties that we reasonably require you to do.

Your Profile

• Can start immediately 
• 2 years of accounts experience in New Zealand 
• Proficiency in Excel, and ideally an ERP 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be based in Christchurch for an interview
• Full, existing unrestricted working rights for New Zealand.
