The Role
- Process creditor invoices and prepare bank files for payment
- Reconcile debtor payments, send statements, and follow up on overdue accounts
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Process, file, and pay GST and RWT returns
- Prepare month-end reporting and financial data for management and external accountants
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies, identifying root causes
- Collate information to support payroll processing
- Support the implementation and optimisation of new financial and inventory systems
- Maintain accurate financial and inventory records with a focus on data integrity
- Adapt workload during peak periods and contribute to process improvements
- Work confidently across integrated accounting and inventory systems
- Experience working in finance within a business environment
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
- A proactive, problem-solving approach with the ability to improve processes
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage varying workloads
- Confidence working with accounting and inventory systems, with the ability to learn new tools quickly
- Competency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Experience in a manufacturing or similar operational environment and exposure to payroll or ERP systems would be advantageous but not essential
- Candidates will need valid working rights for New Zealand.
