The Role
- Managing the accounts payable function in a timely manner, ensuring all bills are loaded and reconciled to creditor statements before creating payment batches for authorisation in line with terms.
- Approving all client invoices, issuing, preparing a Debtors Report, ensuring statements are sent, and working with managers to proactively ensure receipts are received by the due date.
- Preparing WIP reporting and performing any necessary write-offs as.
- Completing bank reconciliations for all bank accounts, including credit cards.
- Supporting month-end processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Ensuring the integrity and completeness of financial records, including verification of all new bank accounts, appropriate tax documentation and GST compliance of suppliers.
- Supporting audit processes and annual reporting requirements.
- 5 years’ experience in a directly similar finance administration role.
- Sound understanding of basic accounting principles, including general ledger and New Zealand tax practices.
- ERP system experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel essential).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of initiative and confidence.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset and willingness to grow and learn.
- Team player with excellent communication skills, approachability and flexibility.
- Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and exercise sound judgement and discretion at all times.
- Valid working rights for New Zealand.
