The Opportunity
This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled Finance Business Partner or Management Accountant to step into a role within a respected, mission-driven healthcare provider. You’ll gain broad exposure to service planning, financial modelling, and performance insights that directly support vulnerable communities. Benefit from professional development, competitive remuneration, flexible working arrangements, and the chance to contribute to meaningful initiatives like hospice expansion and paediatric palliative care enhancements. Enjoy a collaborative team culture with real work-life balance in beautiful Christchurch.

The Company
Nurse Maude is a longstanding, highly regarded not-for-profit organisation providing compassionate nursing, homecare, palliative, and community healthcare services to some of the most vulnerable people in Canterbury and beyond. Founded on a rich legacy of care since 1896, they are guided by values of Care, Partnership, Respect, Excellence, and Integrity.
They are committed to continuous improvement, equity, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and innovation - recently breaking ground on a new hospice, welcoming government investment in paediatric palliative care, earning Highly Commended recognition in Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands, and trialling Starlink to better support remote care delivery.

The Role
  • Partner closely with business unit leaders to provide practical financial advice, performance insights, and challenge that drives better resource decisions.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support accurate planning and operational priorities.
  • Prepare timely month-end and management reports with clear commentary to aid executive and governance decision-making.
  • Develop robust financial models and business cases to evaluate service initiatives, pricing, and investments.
  • Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, systems, and controls for greater efficiency and data quality.
  • Support compliance, governance, audit, and stewardship of organisational resources.
  • Contribute collaboratively within the Finance team and across the wider organisation.
Your Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, finance, or related field, with CA ANZ (or equivalent) qualification
  • Proven experience in management accounting, finance business partnering, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling in a complex environment
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear advice for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, solutions-focused communicator with high integrity, relationship-building ability, and a commitment to continuous improvements
  • Experience in not-for-profit, healthcare, or purpose-led sectors is highly advantageous.
