The Role
- Partner closely with operational and project teams to deliver commercial insights, challenge assumptions, and provide sound financial guidance on initiatives, investments, and cost management.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations and storytelling that empower non-finance leaders to make informed decisions.
- Lead budgeting, rolling forecasting, and scenario modelling processes to support strategic planning and resource prioritisation.
- Analyse performance across departments and projects, identifying trends, variances, risks, and opportunities to drive efficiency and better outcomes.
- Develop and maintain insightful management reporting, dashboards, and KPIs that highlight what matters most to the business.
- Support month-end processes with accurate variance analysis, commentary, and ad-hoc commercial reviews as priorities evolve.
- Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives for financial processes, systems, and tools to deliver faster, higher-quality insights.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, commerce, or a closely related field.
- 2–4 years' experience in management accounting, financial analysis, commercial finance, or a business partnering / advisory role.
- Strong technical capability including advanced Excel and practical experience with ERP or financiais systems (Power BI, Tableau or similar visualisation tools highly regarded).
- Sharp commercial acumen combined with excellent communication skills - you can turn numbers into compelling stories for non-finance audiences.
- Proactive, collaborative mindset with genuine enthusiasm for partnering across teams in a purpose-driven organisation focused on education and community impact.
