As Finance Manager, you’ll be joining an established commercial business in a role that offers genuine breadth across financial control, management reporting, business partnering and senior stakeholder engagement.

The Role
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, annual financial reporting and supporting analysis.
- Ownership of general ledger, reconciliations, financial records and month-end reporting processes.
- Preparation of budgets, forecasts, cash flow reporting and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Delivery of commercial insight to senior management to support business performance and decision-making.
- Oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and key transactional finance processes.
- Preparation of GST, PAYE, FBT and other statutory returns.
- Support with external accountants, auditors, banks and other professional stakeholders.
- Maintenance and improvement of financial systems, reporting tools, controls and business processes.
- Involvement in group reporting, multi-entity consolidations and intercompany reconciliations where required.
- Support for annual budgeting and forecasting cycles across multiple business units.
- Contribution to banking reporting, covenant monitoring and governance requirements.
- Involvement in strategic projects, continuous improvement initiatives and potential systems transformation.
Your Profile
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- CA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent qualification, or working towards this.
- Strong experience in commercial accounting, business advisory, external audit or a related finance role.
- Good technical accounting capability, with confidence across month-end, year-end, budgeting and forecasting.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems, ERP platforms or accounting software.
- Experience with Xero, PayGlobal, consolidation tools or complex reporting environments would be useful.
- Commercially focused, analytical and comfortable building relationships across different levels of a business.
- High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently while contributing positively within a wider finance team.
- Hold full, unrestricted working rights for New Zealand and be based in or actively relocating to Christchurch.
