The Role
- Deliver accurate and timely month-end management accounts, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, cost centre allocations, and GST returns Provide high-quality financial reporting and variance analysis to support service managers and senior leaders in driving operational performance and sustainability
- Act as a trusted finance business partner, translating financial data into actionable insights, scenario modelling, and decision support
- Lead cost centre budgeting, forecasting, and client funding models while monitoring service financial sustainability
- Maintain the fixed asset register, support cashflow reporting, annual audit processes, and the Annual Report
- Build financial capability across service delivery teams and contribute to strategic financial discussions
- Provide backup payroll support and ensure compliance with relevant financial and health & safety requirements
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or a related finance field, with experience in a finance reporting or management accounting role (commercial, practice, or similar environments welcome)
- Strong technical skills including advanced Excel, financial modelling, data analytics, and familiarity with systems such as Xero
- Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Organised, proactive, and deadline-driven with sound judgement and a collaborative approach
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, cultural responsiveness, and working in a values-driven social services environment (Police vetting and Oranga Tamariki clearance required)
