The Opportunity
You’re a management accountant who wants your work to count for more than the month-end pack. You want to sit alongside operational leaders, help them understand the numbers, and contribute to decisions that keep vital support services sustainable.

In this role you’ll combine solid management accounting – accurate invoicing, cost allocation, GST, fixed assets, variance analysis and management reporting – with genuine business partnering. You’ll develop client costing and funding models, lead cost-centre budgeting and forecasting, and provide scenario modelling that supports service planning. You’ll translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights that Service Managers can use day-to-day.

The Role
You’ll be the financial partner who helps service delivery teams understand and improve performance. Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, daily bank reconciliation, cost and revenue allocation across cost centres, and management of EGL accounts
  • Prepare and review month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations, GST returns and high-quality management reporting on cost-centre and service performance
  • Analyse variances against budgets and forecasts, identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities, and maintain the fixed asset register
  • Act as a trusted financial advisor to Service Managers and senior leaders – translating numbers into clear, actionable insights and building financial capability across teams
  • Develop and maintain client costing and funding models; lead cost-centre budgeting and forecasting processes that support sustainable service delivery
  • Provide scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis and risk assessment to support service planning and financial decision-making
  • Support the annual audit, cashflow reporting, payroll backup and contribute to organisational strategy and continuous improvement
Your Profile
You’re a commercially minded finance professional who combines technical accuracy with the ability to partner effectively. You’ll bring:
  • A tertiary degree in accounting or related finance qualification, plus experience in a management accounting or finance reporting role that supports operational managers
  • Strong Excel, financial modelling and data analysis skills; familiarity with business systems such as Xero and experience (or appetite) with Power BI and management reporting tools
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills – able to explain financial concepts clearly and influence non-finance stakeholders
  • Sound judgement, discretion, strong organisational skills and the relationship-building ability to navigate challenging discussions constructively
