You’re organised, people-focused and you don’t mind a bit of banter while you get the job done. You want variety, responsibility and the chance to learn the recruitment game from the inside – in a team that actually enjoys working together.
As Recruitment Coordinator, you’ll be the engine room of our candidate experience. You’ll draft ads, search databases, screen and schedule, keep candidates in the loop, manage contracts and compliance, and build a clean, active talent pool. You’ll work closely with our consultants on assigned roles and take a lateral approach to sourcing – traditional methods and a few creative ones.
This is a genuine office-based role in our Christchurch team. We work hard, we move quickly, and we expect high standards on communication and data quality. In return you’ll get excellent career growth potential, real exposure to the full recruitment lifecycle, and the chance to develop commercial acumen in a specialist agency that keeps winning awards for a reason.
If you bring energy, humour and a candidate-first mindset, you’ll fit right in. We’re looking for someone who can self-manage, prioritise under pressure and still keep the vibe positive when the day gets busy.
The Company
Profile Group is an award-winning specialist recruitment firm (including NZ Agency of the Year) connecting great people with great businesses across New Zealand. We specialise rather than try to do everything – Accounting & Finance, Business Support, Executive Search and more – so our advice is sharp and our networks run deep. Our culture is unorthodox in the best way: loose, fun, people-first and proudly different. We value authenticity, genuine relationships and results that actually stick.
The Role
You’ll support the business with a mix of recruitment, candidate care and sales-support tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Recruit for roles assigned by the General Manager – drafting and loading ads, database searching and taking a creative, lateral approach to sourcing
- Carry out quality, timely screening and reference checking, and own interview scheduling so the process stays smooth for candidates and clients
- Prepare contracts, monitor temp end dates and send extensions as required – keeping everyone informed and documentation accurate
- Deliver outstanding candidate communication: advise applicants of outcomes within 5 working days and keep shortlisted candidates updated within 48 hours at each stage
- Build and maintain an active candidate database and talent pool; place regular weekly touch-points with candidates once they’re in roles
- Complete MOJ and credit checks on placed candidates and run meaningful, recorded safety conversations that meet our targets
- Keep CRM records clean and up to date, support Health & Safety practices, and pitch in on special projects when your skills are needed
Your Profile
You’re someone who enjoys the rhythm of a busy recruitment desk and brings both professionalism and personality. You’ll bring:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills plus a natural sales focus or background – you like talking to people and moving things forward
- Sound Microsoft Office skills, database management experience and the ability to keep records accurate under pressure
- Proven ability to work as part of a team, self-manage, prioritise and deliver external client service with consistency
- A current driver’s licence and the willingness to develop commercial acumen in a recruitment environment
- Alignment with our core values and, importantly, a genuine sense of humour – we work hard and we enjoy the ride
How to Apply Full working rights are required and no sponsorship is offered.
